The Vernal Oil Boom and Space Exploration on Access Utah Friday

www.onearth.org

Today on the program Sheri Quinn talks to author David Gessner about his latest article "How Vernal Utah Grew to Love Big Oil" in the March 2013 issue of One Earth magazine.

On the second half, Science Questions explores a group of new space travelers called fish-nauts with NASA engineer Ed Galindo. He and a team of University of Idaho engineering students are sending trout eggs tot he Earth's upper atmosphere to see how they survive the journey in preparation for eventual trips to the Moon, Mars and beyond.

Sheri's career in radio began at 7 years old in Los Angeles, California with a secret little radio tucked under her bed that she'd fall asleep with, while listening to The Dr. Demento Radio Show. She went on to produce the first science radio show in Utah in 1999 and has been reporting local, national and international stories ever since. After a stint as news director at KZYX on northern California's Lost Coast, she landed back at UPR in 2021.
