New yoga series to take place in Utah's state parks

The Utah Department of Natural Resources announced a new outdoor yoga series taking place in nine different state parks. Organizers hope the experience of practicing yoga in the outdoors will help participants feel more connected to nature.

Utah’s Hindu Statesman Rajan Zed was pleased with this announcement saying it’s a step in a positive direction and hopes the other 49 states organize something similar. He said yoga is a liberating powerhouse that can be used by all.

Each stop in the series will consist of a tour of the park by a ranger, yoga sessions, hiking and meditating.

The first workshop will happen at Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park end of April. Other state parks included in the series are Dead Horse Point, Wasatch Mountain, Jordanelle, Goblin Valley, Red Fleet, Rockport, Snow Canyon and Antelope Island State Park.
