Temple Grandin and Christopher Gauthier on Access Utah Friday

The most famous person with autism, Temple Grandin, has a new book out called The Autistic Brain-Thinking Across the Spectrum, and it is currently number 21 on the best seller list. On the program, producer Sheri Quinn presents this two-part program on autism.  In the first half, Temple Grandin talks about the book, her latest research in the livestock industry, and what she thinks parents, clinicians, and educators should be doing to improve the lives of children with autism.

In the second half of the show, we hear from Utah state university artist and recipient of the 2013 Utah visual arts fellowship, Christopher Gauthier, about his photo art exhibit called "evidence and artifacts" produced by Elaine Taylor.

Sheri's career in radio began at 7 years old in Los Angeles, California with a secret little radio tucked under her bed that she'd fall asleep with, while listening to The Dr. Demento Radio Show. She went on to produce the first science radio show in Utah in 1999 and has been reporting local, national and international stories ever since. After a stint as news director at KZYX on northern California's Lost Coast, she landed back at UPR in 2021.
