Psychology & Air Quality On Tuesday's Access Utah

“It’s a sight Utahns are all too familiar with -- gray, smoggy air filled with dangerous particulate matter. Officials say sensitive groups like children and the elderly should be especially cautious during times of inversion. During red air days the air is unhealthy for everyone. We know this. So why do we continue driving to work? Why do we idle our cars, contributing to the problem?”

That’s the introduction to a recent story by UPR’s Aimee Cobabe. Tuesday on Access Utah we’ll talk about the psychology of behavior as it relates to air pollution. We’ll also review various bills at the 2016 Utah Legislature which address air quality.

Our guests include Matt Pacenza, Executive Director, HEAL Utah; Rep. Becky Edwards, R-North Salt Lake City; and USU doctoral student James Singer.

We’ll share responses to our Utah Public Insight Network query on this topic and we hope to hear from you.
