Murray Woman’s Disappearance Perplexes Family, Police

The mystery surrounding a missing Murray woman continues. Police say Kayelyn Louder, 30, was exhibiting strange behavior in the 911 calls the she made in the 24 hour period before her disappearance on Sept. 27. Murray Police Office Kenny Bass explained.

“At this point we think it’s possible that she’s not in her normal state of mind,” Bass said. “She could be delusional, so our main concern is to try to still find her because we want to make sure that she’s okay. If she is delusional she may be more of a harm to herself than anything.”

According to media reports, in a call made on the evening before her disappearance, Louder tells police that there is a fight going on at her condominium’s clubhouse. However, when police arrived all they found was a wedding party.

Then, on the morning of her disappearance, Louder called the police again about an intruder in her apartment. Police found no evidence of a break-in and her roommate said no one was in the apartment.

Louder’s family calls behavior unusual, but also wants the police to look further into the possibility that there was an intruder in the house. Louder’s friend Riley Welsh says the family is holding out hope that she is safe somewhere.

“It really just feels like to us that something went awry,” Welsh said. “Of course we’re definitely holding out the possibility that she is safe somewhere, but it doesn’t make any sense as to how she could be safe somewhere and not have contacted anyone."

Louder had worked in social work and counseling before recently losing her job. She was last seen leaving her apartment barefoot, and wearing just a tank top and shorts. Louder left behind her keys, phone and dog.

Bass said there have been no good leads in the case so far.
