Police say a Logan man has been arrested on suspicion of raping three women at a Utah State University fraternity house. 27-year-old Jason Relopez was booked into Cache County Jail on Tuesday due to allegations by a woman who reported to Logan police that she had been sexually assaulted at a Sigma Chi fraternity house.

Logan City Police Chief Gary Jensen said that investigators have found enough evidence to charge Relopez with multiple counts of rape.

“Secondary to that complaint, our investigators were able to go forward, investigate some of the details of her complaint, and were able to identify two other potential victims,” Jensen said. “As such, we made contact with those potential victims, were able to interview them as well, and also gain further information and evidence connecting Mr. Jason Relopez to what he has been ultimately been charged with—seven counts of rape.”

After the first complaint to police, two other women then made similar allegations. Jensen said that there is evidence showing that similar activity had been going on for some time.

“In talking to the victims of this case, there’s been allegations of impropriety and sexual assault from October [2014] to July of 2015,” he said.

This is the second rape case in recent months involving fraternities at USU. Back in April, ex-Pi Kappa Alpha president Ryan Wray was charged with the sexual abuse of a woman while she slept.
