Come work for UPR!

We're seeking a Special Events and Online Auction Development Officer. The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating special events and online auctions to increase station income and visibility of the UPR Network statewide.

The position requires a high level of professionalism, poise, courtesy, and negotiation skills to best represent UPR, achieve the goals and objectives of the UPR Network and close advantageous deals.  The successful applicant must possess strong communication skills to cultivate and establish extensive and sometimes complex relationships with businesses and non-profit partners as well as public and private foundations.

Utah Public Radio is licensed to Utah State University (USU), a nationally ranked, land grant research institution in Logan, 80 miles north of Salt Lake City.  Our program focus is NPR news and public affairs, statewide news coverage, classical music, with folk music and variety programming on weekends.  We also maintain a strong commitment to locally-produced content.

UPR is on the campus of USU in northern Utah’s Cache Valley. The surrounding area, which includes ski resorts, trails, lakes, and rivers, is one of the finest recreational environments in the nation and within six hours driving distance of eight national parks.  Logan is an attractive, affordable, and safe mountain west community that provides an outstanding living-learning lifestyle.  It is also the center of a thriving arts community and home of the Utah Festival Opera Company, the Cache Valley Center for the Arts, and the Chamber Music Society of Logan.  We maintain a storefront studio on Logan’s Main Street adjacent to the historic Ellen Eccles Theatre.  Quarterly downtown gallery walks, annual festivals, and seasonal markets showcase the work of outstanding local artisans.

The annual salary for this position is $32,000 as well as a generous benefits package from Utah State University. USU’s rich benefits package includes medical and dental coverage, 14.2% of your annual gross earnings contributed into a retirement program, 12 days' vacation (plus 12 paid holidays. . .including Pioneer Day!) and 12 days of sick leave each year, reduced tuition of 50% for employee and dependents, and more. This position will be open until filled, and the official start date is August 1, 2012.
