Make a special gift in support of our Technology Fund Drive today! <a href="https://secure.publicbroadcasting.net/upr/default/form.pledgemain?">Make a gift right now by clicking here</a>.</p><p>In 1998, UPR installed the KUSR transmitter, which now needs to be updated. Much like phones, computers, and boomboxes (sorry, walkmans...er...CD players... mp3 players) needed to be updated, so does our technology. We need a new transmitter to stay up-to-date and on-air. The cost is $19,000. The one we have is on its last leg.</p><p><a href="https://secure.publicbroadcasting.net/upr/default/form.pledgemain?__utma=80343635.1851499764.1383161358.1401293757.1401298734.292&amp;__utmb=80343635.20.10.1401298734&amp;__utmc=80343635&amp;__utmx=-&amp;__utmz=80343635.1394571506.157.5.utmcsr=upr.org|utmccn=%28referral%29|utmcmd=referral|utmcct=/&amp;__utmv=-&amp;__utmk=240522122" target="_blank"><strong>&gt;&gt;DONATE NOW&lt;&lt;</strong></a></p><p> Thu, 29 May 2014 03:00:49 +0000 April Ashland & Bryan Earl 41719 at http://upr.org TECH DRIVE 2014: Throwback Thursday UPR Wins 2013 Associated Press Awards http://upr.org/post/upr-wins-2013-associated-press-awards <p>Utah Public Radio is pleased to be among the winners of the Associated Press Television and Radio Association 2013 awards for excellence in broadcast journalism.</p><p>KUSU-FM received two awards in the annual competition that brings together TV and radio journalism from across the western United States.</p> Tue, 29 Apr 2014 03:48:50 +0000 UPR News 40315 at http://upr.org UPR Wins 2013 Associated Press Awards How Do Oil And Gas Industries In Utah Affect You? http://upr.org/post/how-do-oil-and-gas-industries-utah-affect-you <p></p><p style="margin: 0px; padding: 0.5em 0px; border: 0px; outline: 0px; font-size: 13px; vertical-align: baseline; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; letter-spacing: normal; line-height: 19.5px; orphans: auto; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: auto; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial;">Oil and gas industries have been rising in the United States.
