The final design for our 60th anniversary mug have been chosen, and we're so excited for the final product.
We had more than 30 submissions, and after narrowing the submissions down to the top 5, we were overwhelmed with the public input. More than 350 people voted in the competition, and chose the design by Lucy Watkins.
UPR would like to thank the artists who submitted:
On Monday Utah Public Radio participated in the nationwide premiere of the NPR show, TED Radio Hour. The popular new show features excerpts from the well-known TED stage, where some of the world's best thinkers and innovators give the 18-minute "talk of their lives."
The TED Radio Hour team takes the most compelling talks and organizes them around a common theme. Each week’s show is rounded out with innovative storytelling techniques and interviews with TED speakers.
The 60th anniversary mug submissions are in, and the UPR staff and interns have chosen the top five contenders. Now it is up to you. Choose your one favorite design that you think should be on our limited edition anniversary mug.
We want your favorite design, which represents Utah as a state, Utah Public Radio as a station, and celebrates our 60th anniversary. You must vote by Tuesday evening, February 26.
Victor Hogstrom, UPR Station Manager since 2010, has resigned his position and will be returning to Tennessee to be with family. A search to locate a new manager will be directed by Utah State University’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHaSS) under the director of Dean John Allen. In the meantime, UPR News Director Kerry Bringhurst will represent UPR as the station manager.
Many thanks to Mr. Hogstrom for his work to enhance UPR’s news and information content and for efforts to enhance UPR’s statewide services.
We're having a mini pledge drive, where we share in the love of UPR in honor of your valentine. We're offering a special Valentine's Day gift, where you get a UPR membership and a box of handmade artisan chocolates from Utah's own Chocolot Artisan Confections in Ogden.
For every pledge of $75 between now and Friday February 8, you’ll receive a box of 12 chocolates and the option of sending them anywhere in the country with your personalized message.
