Young Male Driver Seriously Injured When Pickup Crashes Into Cedar City House

Erin Hensel is a teacher at Cedar High School and was pulling out of the school when she witnessed the incident, she said as medical personnel employed hydraulic equipment to extract the driver from the vehicle.

"Looking into oncoming traffic he was traveling west. I would guess he was going at least 30 miles per hour. I thought he was pulling into the driveway there and I thought 'that's a weird way to pull into the driveway' and he crashed through the bushes, hit the tree on the driver's side and what stopped his movement was hitting that fence. And then by the time I pulled over to call 911, the guy who lives in the house there came out and his neighbor was already on the phone as well," she said.

Elio McGarvey lives in the house.

"I thought the whole roof was coming down, and then I came out and saw a truck in my backyard. Just go back there and there's a kid unconscious over in the passenger seat," McGarvey said.

Authorities have not yet released the name or medical condition of the driver.
