What Not to Grow: Marijuana Garden Bust in Iron County

During the early hours Monday morning members of the Iron County Sheriff's Office along with the DEA, Forest Service, and the Iron/Garfield County Narcotics Task Force, located and removed a number of marijuana plants located in a garden near Pinto, Utah, about 30 miles west of Cedar City.

The incident command location was set up just along Pinto Road and it is estimated some 4,000 plants were removed by Monday afternoon.

The information about the marijuana garden was initially reported from concerned citizens.

Sheriff Gower expressed gratitude for the cooperation and help from the citizens that are in the back woods area of Iron County who pay attention to this type of activity.

The Iron/Garfield County Task Force maintains a website for concerned citizens recognize and report illegal marijuana gardens.
