Utah Teens Die In Early Morning Collision

Utah County Sheriff

Two Utah County teenagers were killed Wednesday morning after the driver of a pickup truck drifted into their lane and collided head on with their car.

The crash happened around 2 a.m. Wednesday morning on State Road 73 in Eagle Mountain. Utah County Sheriff's officials say the driver of a Ford F-250 pickup was driving west when he drifted over the center line and collided head on with a car that was driving east.

The driver of the Ford Focus, 18 year old Hailie Leeann Godfrey of Eagle Mountain, died at the scene. Her passenger, 18 year old Simon Olsen of Eagle Mountain, also died as a result of the collision. Another passenger survived the crash.

Officers say all three teenagers were wearing seat belts and that there was no evidence that alcohol or drugs was a factor in the crash.
