On Monday, UPR's Arden Ott reported on a possible connection between a body found Sunday in Cache Valley and a Wyoming man missing since November.
We have an update about postings on the Facebook Kyle Burton Search Party page, where organizers of a volunteer search effort say they believe, based on evidence and descriptions they have received from the Sheriff’s office, the remains found near Providence Canyon are those of the missing 18-year-old Burton.
The man was living with family in River Heights when he went missing. Cache County Sheriff's Search and Rescue ended their search for Burton because of weather and limited leads in the case. In the meantime, the family used Facebook to secure volunteers to continue the search for the Lovell, Wyoming man.
A hiker sighted the remains Sunday underneath a tree in a rocky area of the south side of a ravine.
An official identification has not been released.

Reports that the remains of a man have been found near northern Utah’s Providence Canyon have community members wondering if they could be those of a Wyoming man missing since November.
Kyle Burton of Lovell, Wyoming was living with relatives in Utah when he disappeared.
Comments posted on the Kyle Burton Search Party Facebook page speculate remains found Sunday in Cache County could be those of the missing man. Burton, who had been living with family members in River Heights, was reporting missing November 29, 2017. A search for the 18 year old began December 1 after Cache County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue began looking for what they described as a missing vulnerable adult.
The search was focused in the east Cache Valley mountain’s where Burton was known to spend time hiking. After a two-day organized search ended, friends of Burton’s family used Facebook to ask volunteers to continue looking. The last posting before today was on January 28, when organizers said there were no new developments in the search.
That all changed Monday after followers learned the remains of a man had been found in the area of Providence Canyon, south of River Heights.
According to Monday’s Facebook postings, followers of the Kyle Burton Search Party are waiting for autopsy results to confirm an identification. Detectives working the Burton case told UPR the remains have been sent to the state medical examiner.
Cache County Sheriff Lt. Brian Locke tells local media a hiker spotted the body Sunday on the south facing side of a steep rock covered ravine. The remains were hidden by a tree, making them difficult to spot.
