During the three and a half-hour meeting on Wednesday, Republican representatives instead initiated their own inquiry of Swallow who is already being investigated by other state and federal jurisdictions.
Earlier in the day, Swallow defended himself before the state’s conservative caucus. Southern Utah Representative John Westwood told KSUB that he emerged from that meeting with more questions than answers.
“I’m more confused than when I went into it,” Westwood said. “I heard mixed emotions and mixed reactions from the other representatives so there was mixed feelings in that caucus meeting as well today.”
Legislators say they need more information before acting on impeachment.
