The personal finance website, WalletHub, released an analysis of 2016’s best and worst cities to find a job, and Salt Lake City finished in the top 5.

“Getting a better job” is one of the most popular 2016 New Year’s resolutions in the U.S. With employment expected to rise, Salt Lake City was analyzed and excelled in numerous key steps.

“Job market especially is where it really excelled and had the most number of job openings per unemployed people in the country actually. [Salt Lake City] had the third lowest unemployment rate at just 3 1/2%, which is definitely lower than the national average.”

Jill Gonzalez of WalletHub says the company compared 150 of the most populated cities and used 17 key metrics in the analysis which include job opportunities, employment growth and monthly median starting salary.

“And a lot of variety when it comes to the industries of Salt Lake City, so it’s not going to be just one type of job to choose from but many different kinds.”

Ryker Harding, who works for Henrikson-Bulter, a furniture supplier, says Salt Lake City is a great place to live and work because people come from all around the world. He says people come to Salt Lake for the variety of activities.

According to WalletHub, employment is expected to grow by 210,000 jobs monthly and unemployment is expected to fall to 4.7% by the end of 2016.
