The search 21-year-old Kaitlin Anne Kenney, of Englewood, Colorado began over the weekend. Kenney was last seen at her group's overnight camp site located near Tapeats Creek, a remote area of the Grand Canyon.
Park authorities were notified of her disappearance and responded to the remote location after receiving a call from a member of the group carrying a satellite telephone.
The search has continued both from the air and on the ground. Ground efforts were intensified on Monday. The area is described as a maze of several side canyons.
Kenney is 5-feet 5-inches tall, weighing 125 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a tan knee-length coat, hiking boots, rugged tan pants, with a black knit cap.
