One Injured In Small Plane Crash In Cache Valley

One person was injured when a small plane crashed in southern Cache Valley Thursday morning.

Sheriff Chad Jensen with the Cache County Sheriff’s Department said around 10:15 Thursday morning dispatch was notified that a plane had crashed behind Hardward Ranch near Hyrum.

The initial report was made by another plane in the area that saw the plane go down. The plane involved in the crash was flown by one pilot who survived.

“We were fortunate that Life Flight was available and so was a DPS helicopter so they were immediately dispatched into the area," Jensen said.

The pilot was stabilized and transported to McKay Dee Hospital.

“I know he’s had injuries to his legs, his arms, his face. I don’t know the extent of his injuries. He was transported before we got on scene,” Jensen said.

The plane was a single-engine, 2-seat plane. There is an ongoing investigation of the cause of the crash.
