New Cache Valley Center for the Arts Executive Director Named

The Board of Directors of the Cache Valley Center for the Arts (CVCA) is pleased to announce the appointment of James D. Kreutzberg as its Executive Director beginning July 1, 2013. The selection was made from among more than twenty applicants who responded to a nationwide search.  His appointment is made necessary by the retirement of Wally Bloss, who has successfully led CVCA for more than eight years.

Kreutzberg comes to CVCA with fifteen years of experience in guiding anchor arts centers in regional markets similar to Cache Valley.  Most recently he has been a consultant to arts organizations and was the Executive Director of the Capitol Civic Centre in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.  He has extensive experience in presenting touring artists, offering arts educations classes and outreach, hosting community-based performing groups, public/private partnerships to enhance regional cultural organizations, and collaborative efforts to complement existing local arts initiatives. Most notably, Kreutzberg has also managed his organizations with careful financial oversight.

His arts management career followed a substantial career as a scene/lighting designer having worked in New York, Cleveland, Milwaukee, and Philadelphia.  Coupled with his Bachelors in Fine Arts degrees from Ohio University and his acting, singing, and dancing experience as a youth clearly rounds out his qualifications for this new assignment.

“We are so pleased that Jim has accepted our offer to become the next Executive Director of the CVCA. We look forward to his expertise in helping the CVCA manage important community arts assets, the Ellen Eccles Theatre, the Bullen Center and the Thatcher-Young Mansion and in working together with all the other arts organizations in the Valley to enhance our quality of life through the arts.  I invite everyone to join me in a warm Cache Valley welcome to Jim and his wife.” said Leland Foster, Chair of the CVCA Board of Directors.
