Over 1,000 people helped countdown the ribbon cutting to Adobe’s new 280,000 square-foot facility.
After the countdown, employees released balloons inside the atrium of the $107 million building to celebrate the official opening of the structure.
The new building base in Lehi marks Adobe’s stamp of approval in investing its company in Utah. The California based software company planned a building that is not only friendly to the environment as it pursues a LEED Gold certified level on the building, but also friendly to its employees.
The building has a workout center, a full NBA sized basketball court, a cafeteria and an atrium filled with pool and ping pong tables. Governor Gary Herbert praised Adobe’s new workplace.
"You look at the facility here. It’s business friendly, it’s employee friendly, there’s almost no reason to go home, it's such a wonderful building! But this is just the first phase, they’ve got two more phases on the books planned. So again, this is a great day for Adobe and a great day for Utah."
Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen says the structure symbolizes what Adobe is all about.
"Adobe has always been known as being a great place to work. And being a great place to work starts with the physical environment. I think if you look at the innovation in this building, the creativity and the science that went into it, I think it’s a reflection of what Adobe is as a company."
The Adobe CEO says he hopes this innovation will help the company succeed.
"We’re just excited to be here and create an ongoing culture of growth here in the state."
As the new structure sits right next to I-15 near Thanksgiving Point, Governor Herbert says it’s not what’s on the outside of the building that makes it amazing, it’s the people who work in them.
"It really at the end of the day is about the people. I think we understand that better in Utah as we provide a very fertile environment for the business entrepreneur."
