More Snow, Temperatures To Drop Monday In Northern Utah

A winter storm moving through northern Utah is expected to dump more snow and cause a drop in temperatures Monday.

Eric Schoening is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Salt Lake City. He says the Salt Lake City and Provo areas will see up to an inch of snow, while Ogden and Logan could get between 1 and 3 inches.

The heavy snow that the storm brought Sunday knocked over tress and power lines, leaving more than 23,000 people without power in the Salt Lake City and Tooele valleys.

Schoening says Salt Lake City will see a high of 38 degrees Monday. That's a 24-degree drop from Sunday's high of 62 degrees.

He says the cold air is not expected to stick around for long. The forecast shows highs of 49 degrees Tuesday and 60 degrees Wednesday.
