"Microfarming For Profit" On Tuesday's Access Utah

Torrey House Press

Dave DeWitt is one of the world’s foremost authorities on chile peppers and spicy foods. He is a food historian and an associate professor in the College of Agriculture, Consumer and Environmental Sciences at New Mexico State University, and co-producer of the National Fiery Foods & Barbecue Show. He is author of more than fifty books, mostly on chile peppers and fiery foods, but also including novels, food histories, and a travel guide.

In his latest book “Microfarming for Profit” he shows how unused or under-used land can be turned into successful microfarms. From peppers to honey, oysters to oyster mushrooms, ginseng to garlic, DeWitt profiles successful microfarms and details his own experiences.

Dave DeWitt lives with his wife, Mary Jane Wilan, in the South Valley of Albuquerque, New Mexico, with two Dobermans, two Cornish Rex cats, his garden, and his greenhouse.
