Legislator Think Tank and Fire on Access Utah Thursday

ALEC stands for the American Legislative Exchange Council, which states they are a non-profit organization, a "state legislators' think tank" that provides "a constructive forum for state legislators and private sector leaders to discuss and exchange practical, state-level public policy issues."  There are currently 28 Utah State Legislators with memberships in ALEC.

Lee Austin talks to Utah Representative Bradley Daw and a member of ALEC about his involvement and his defense of the organization. He also talks to Maryann Martindale executive director of the Alliance for a Better Utah about the arguments against ALEC.

In the second half of the program, the topic is wildfires: what's happened so far, and what's expected for the rest of the summer. Nick Howell, with the Bureau of Land Management is our guest.

The 39th Annual meeting of ALEC will take place in Salt Lake City July 25-28.
