Authorities in Iron County have an attempted murder case on their hands.
Iron County deputies were dispatched to a residence northeast of Cedar City at about 7 p.m. Sunday, on a report of a suicidal man. During the course of the investigation the deputies learned that the suicidal person had allegedly committed an aggravated assault and had attempted to shoot another person with a shotgun.
28-year-old Curtis Lowery was arrested and booked into the Iron County jail on charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault, and intoxication. Lowery also contacted the victim by telephone after his incarceration, and based on that conversation, he now also faces a charge of witness tampering.
