Gina Barnett's "Play The Part" On Tuesday's Access Utah

www.playthepartbook.com/

Gina Barnett has coached executives and leaders worldwide from Fortune 500 companies to start-ups, small businesses and non-profits. She has been speaker coach for TED Talks for the past five years.

In her book, “Play the Part: Master Body Signals to Connect and Communicate for Business Success,” Barnett focuses on embodiment: how the body affects our thoughts and emotions and, in turn, how we engage and are perceived.

Barnett began her career on stage and has spent more than 30 years writing, coaching and ‘playing.’  Barnett says, “Great acting teachers spend their lives observing human beings and behaviors to impart to their students the tools to truthfully portray them. The techniques actors use to usher audiences into imaginary worlds evolved for a primary purpose to emotionally move those audiences.”  She says that those techniques and skills can help us to better communicate and connect in business and in life.

We’ll revisit our conversation with Gina Barnett from August 2015. She’ll talk about her book, working with TED speakers, and the impacts of body language and signals.
