On the show this week, I feature the latest album from the fingerstyle guitarist Austin Weyand, as well as the new collection of essential songs from Claudia Schmidt. I’ll also play songs from new albums by Ronny Cox, Ellen Cherry, and Al Rose, to name just a few. Join me this Saturday for Fresh Folk on Utah Public Radio.

Though we are heading into the holiday season, there are still some great concerts happening around the state, including: David Wilcox at the First Christian Reformed Church on Nov 29^th, Alejandro Escovedo at the State Room on December 7^th, the Punch Brothers at the Depot on Dec 7^th, Justin Townes Earle at the State Room on December 15^th, Shemekia Copeland at the Egyptian Theater in Park City on January 11^th, In Logan, the bluegrass band Chicken Dinner Road performs at Legends Billiards on Nov 30^th.

Blair Larsen

Originally from Virginia, Blair has lived in Logan for 20 years. She has earned degrees in Environmental Science, Earth Science Education, and Geology. She has been involved in the folk music community for many years, producing local concerts for nearly 20 years, and hosting Fresh Folk for over a decade. Blair is an avid fan of both science and music, and attempts to indulge both sides of her brain every day. Blair and her husband share their home with 4 exceptional cats.
