Fresh Folk- June 21

  On the show this week, I feature the new album from the masterful storyteller Joe Crookston, and the compelling songs from Lucy Billings’ new release. The summer concert season is in full swing, and here’s a list of who’s playing when: Merle Haggard at Kingsbury Hall on June 24^th, Peter Murphy at the Depot on June 25^th, the Utah Arts Festival takes place June 27 and 28 with headliners Mountain Heart and John McCutcheon scheduled, Bill Medley at the Egyptian Theater in Park City on June 27^thand 28^th, The Punch Brothers at Deer Valley on July 6^th, The Hold Steady at the Urban Lounge on July 14^th, Mary Chapin Carpenter at Deer Valley on July 19^th, James McMurtry at Snowbasin on July 20^th, the Indigo Girls at Kenley Amphitheater on July 25^th, and OK Go at the State Room on August 8^th. In Logan, Australian singer-songwriter Sherrie Austin plays at the Bullen Center on June 27^th, REO Speedwagon plays for the Cruise In on July 4^th, and Rupert Wates does a show at Crumb Brothers on July 19^th.
