Fresh Folk- July 12

  My show is ending next week, so it’s appropriate that this week I feature the blues, with new releases from the legendary Bobby Rush, and the powerhouse writer Deanna Bogart. I’ll also play songs from new discs by Liz Kennedy, Lucky Peterson, and Tommy Malone, among other talented artists. Join me and listen this Saturday at 8pm, for Fresh Folk, on Utah Public Radio.

The summer concert season is in full swing, and here’s a list of who’s playing when: The Hold Steady at the Urban Lounge on July 14^th, Mary Chapin Carpenter at Deer Valley on July 19^th, James McMurtry at Snowbasin on July 20^th, the Indigo Girls at Kenley Amphitheater on July 25^th, OK Go at the State Room on August 8^th, and Mason Jennings at the State Room on September 12^th and 13^th. In Logan, Rupert Wates does a show at Crumb Brothers on July 19^th, and Caroline Aiken plays at Stokes Nature Center on August 2^nd.  Lastly, Red Butte Garden’s season includes:  Tedeschi Trucks Band on July 22^nd, Lyle Lovett on July 25^th, Gary Clark Jr on July 27^th, Taj Mahal and John Hiatt on August 3^rd, Chris Isaak on August 5^th, the John Butler Trio on August 6^th, Ray LaMontagne on August 8^th, Michael McDonald  and Toto on August 12^th, Cheryl Crow on August 14^th, David Gray on August 21^st, and Earth Wind and Fire on August 29^th.
