Fresh Folk- August 25

On the show this week, I feature the gentle and true music from Adler and Hearne, as well as the deceptively deep songs of Cary Cooper. I’ll also play songs from new albums by Tommy Womack, Andra Suchy, and the Atomic Duo, to name just a few. Join me this Saturday at 8pm for Fresh Folk on Utah Public Radio.

The summer concert season is winding down, but there are still great shows happening: Bruce Hornsby plays at the Sandy City Amphitheater on August 31^st, Rosanne Cash performs at the Kenley Amphitheater also on August 31^st, The Wood Brothers perform at the Canyons on September 1^st, Cindy Novelo plays for MacNichol Concerts in SLC on September 1^st, and for Front Porch House Concerts on September 2^nd, the Old 97s do a show at the Urban Lounge on September 8^th, Pat Metheny plays at the State Room on September 9^th, James McMurtry performs at the State Room on September 22^nd,  and Ben Taylor plays at the State Room on September 24^th.

At Red Butte Garden this summer, the season concludes with Huey Lewis and the News on August 26^th, Bonnie Raitt with Mavis Staples on August 28^th and 29^th. In Logan, Sofia Talvik plays at Why Sound on September 7^th, the Beaver Mt Music Festival takes place at Beaver Mt on September 8^th  Cosy Sheridan performs at Crumb Brothers on September 15^th, and the Porcupine Music Festival takes place in Avon on September 22^nd.
