Drug Court With Thomas Willmore, Andrew Dupree, & Randy Williams On Thursday's Access Utah

Drug addiction changes the trajectory of many lives. A drug addict may cycle many times in and out of jail. Families confront the serious dilemma of how best to help their addicted family member. We’re going to talk about an innovation that is showing some promise in helping: drug court. We’ll talk with Judge Thomas Willmore from the Cache Valley Drug Court. We’ll also talk with two people involved in “Voices From Drug Court: Cache Valley Drug Court Oral History Project,” which is preserving the history of the drug court: Randy Williams, Fife Folklore Archives Curator with USU Special Collections and Archives; and Andrew Dupree, graduate of drug court and inspiration behind and co-director for the oral history project. And we’ll hear the voices of John, a drug court graduate; Michelle, a current participant in drug court; and Tamra, the mother of a drug court participant.

The public is invited to attend Cache Valley Drug Court, which is held every Tuesday at noon at First District Court, 130 North 100 West in Logan.
