Bear Behavior In Spring Driven By One Thing: Food.

More Bear Sightings As Spring Continues

An elusive bear was recently located and removed from a Park City residential neighborhood, and authorities issued a warning to the Desert Springs area of the Arizona Strip after recent bear sightings.

After a long winter’s nap, food is foremost on the minds of bears says Lynn Chamberlain of the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources.

"Everything a bear does this time of year is driven by food. Ya know, they wake up after hybernation in the winter, they haven't had a thing to eat for months and they are just ravenous," Chamberlain said. "Many of the sows have cubs right now, and they've got to feed them.”

The bear in Utah was tranquilized and relocated to a more remote area.  Wildlife officials are still searching for the troublesome Arizona bears.
