Barking Dog In Bloody SUV Prompts Search For Missing Men

The bizarre circumstances that led Salt Lake City police to investigate three missing men began with reports of a barking dog in an abandoned vehicle near 1500 South and 1800 West on Monday morning. When animal control arrived, they called police.

Salt Lake City Police Sgt. Robin Heiden said the condition of the abandoned vehicle is what prompted further investigation.

“The white Tahoe that we found yesterday had a large amount of blood on the inside of it; enough to make us think that someone may have been hurt. Detectives worked some leads and were able to connect these three missing males to the SUV,” she said.

Heiden said the three missing men, Danny Kiko Gallegos, Braden Parker Emerson and Levi Joseph Collins may be in danger, and police are doing all they can to find the missing men.

“We’re not able to get ahold of them, their families are not able to get ahold of them, and so we’ve listed them as missing. If they are seen anywhere nationwide their names will pop up on the computer and we’ll be contacted," she said.

The barking dog that prompted the initial call to authorities was unharmed.
