Author of "Running Random Road" and Robotics on Access Utah Friday

On the program, Sheri Quinn talks to author Caleb Daniloff about his new book called "Running Ransom Road," a vivid account of his 18-month-long experience running marathons in the cities he wrecked havoc in as an alcoholic. With each marathon, he confronted the past and paved his road to redemption.

In the second half, Science Questions profiles youth robotics competitions that are currently sweeping the nation, and they explore the robotic revolution with two engineers who are building two very different kinds of robots -- one that will help amputees walk better and one that will survey the world's oceans searching for everything from rare sea turtles and oil spills to pirates.

Sheri's career in radio began at 7 years old in Los Angeles, California with a secret little radio tucked under her bed that she'd fall asleep with, while listening to The Dr. Demento Radio Show. She went on to produce the first science radio show in Utah in 1999 and has been reporting local, national and international stories ever since. After a stint as news director at KZYX on northern California's Lost Coast, she landed back at UPR in 2021.
