stopntalk.com

Election results for three positions in Logan City are preliminary but congratulations were given election night to three of the four candidates who ran for a position on the city council.

Tom Jensen had been serving on the city's planning commission. Jensen will join current chairwomen Jeannie Simmonds and councilman Herm Olsen who were re-elected Tuesday night.

Logan City held a vote-by-mail election this year in an effort to encourage an increase in voter participation. While some ballots may still be outstanding Logan City is reporting a 28 percent participation among registered Logan voters.

Twenty-one percent of registered voters in Nibley voted in a city council election that had six candidates vying for three seats. Tom Bernhardt received 25 percent of the votes.  Larry Jacobsen received 23 percent of the votes and Timothy Ramirez will also serve on the council after receiving 17 percent of votes.

In Hyrum Kathy Bingham, Craig Rasmussen and Aaron Woolstenhulme were elected to serve on the Hyrum City Council in the Southern Cache Valley community.
